Diving Train Wreck

Diving Train Wreck and Koh Waen is a New Dive Site for Lanta Diver since last year. The train was sank by the Thai authority deliberatly on April 28 2015, to create an artifical reef.

The train is situated outside the small uninhabited island of Koh Waen south of Koh Lanta which is part of the “four islands”. The visibility is lower in these waters at times however many species of coral grow near the island.  Here you will also find huge boulders covered with corals, sponges and anemones. Marine life consists of schools of fish like Snapper and Barracuda. Overhangs, outcropping and caverns provide shelter for Glassfish and different species of Nudibranchs. There are also interesting cave systems and swim throughs.
